Last updated:

After the improvements of the RX 6000 series, we now look forward to the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT. It may turn out to be the second best graphics card to choose.

Part of the upcoming RDNA 3 series hopes to offer a good selection of a GPU. Especially after the success of the RX 6800 XT.

It is the more attractive option with good performance without a high price tag. The new card will probably follow with good performance without the exorbitant price tag.

With that, we must round off the latest leaks and rumors about what we can expect from the upcoming power center. Since there are still no official announcements missing.

For the specifications, there is still a lot of change to be expected until the release of the card. But for now, there are some conversations that can be added to our summary.

The 7800 XT is expected to be based on the Navi 32 chip. Which will include TSMC’s 5- and 6nm process that will use the RDNA 3 graphics architecture.

The cube itself can contain 128 calculation units. Along with 8,192 or 10,240 power processors.

Here we see some of the conflicts between sources about what the card contains.

For VRAM, the 7900 XT can hold 16 or 20 GB of GDDR6. Across a 256- or 320-bit bus. Which can possibly be clocked at 18 Gbps.

It is also said to have a 256 MB infinite cache and be the first to have PCIe Gen 5 interface. Adds plenty of speed bandwidth to the memory and the card itself.

This indicates an improvement over the previous generation, as expected. But even then, a lot of performance boost is expected with a closer battle between the competitors.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT rumors about release date

There are no separate suggestions for when you can expect different release dates for models. So we assume that the first lineup will be the same as the previous one and have the three main options.

With that comes the main source of the rumor about the release date Greymon55 on Twitter. Who is a known leak that suggests a launch window from late October to mid-November.

This will be similar to the time for the RX 6000 series that came out in October 2020.

This has not yet been confirmed, although previous announcements suggest it will be by the end of 2022 anyway.

As GPU price crash has led to an overlay of cards for the manufacturers. Which they will sell away before the next generation.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT price speculation

One of the last things to be confirmed about a release is the price of them. But we only look back at the previous releases about what we can expect.

The current model types are still fairly new, so there is not much to go back to. However, we look at the rest of the trends to come up with a prediction.

With the RX 6800 XT, it came out at a recommended price of $ 649 USD. So this will probably be the starting point for the following card.

So we expect to see RX 7800 XT cost in the range $ 650- $ 900 USD. As with inflation and price increases, we expect a higher cost.
